Report of the September 2009 Stevenage meeting
This month's meeting saw a new face, John Bradley. John was introduced by regular Paul. He had met John after buying a printer from him on E-Bay. After collecting the printer Paul and John chatted a while and John was invited to our next club meeting to try us out.
John's computing started in the era of the BBC Micro, where it was the classic case of the young hacker in his bedroom coding his masterpiece that would save the world - and make John his fortune! Unfortunately, coding is one skill and marketing is another. Bill Gates could rest easy. Welcome to our group John.
The theme of this month was mobile broadband. John demonstrated his broadband connection via his mobile phone - until the battery run down!
Then Rod introduced us to Pay as You Go broadband via the Vodaphone broadband dongle that he had purchased for one of his friends. A more detailed review is given in the features section.
