Thomas Proefrock writes: Any idea where I can find software for my JamCam to work on Windows XP. Thanking you in advance... My initial response is as follows: One of the problems with the constantly changing Microsoft Windows is the potential hardware problems when one upgrades to the new operating system, especially when the driver model changes. Regarding XP, it is supposed to be designed so that it runs software for earlier operating systems with less bother than in previous versions of Windows. The driver model has changed in XP but as the Jamcam uses USB I would have thought that using the standard drivers for USB installed with XP would be no problem. If you have not done so, it is worth trying the Jamcam software on XP unchanged. However, if it fails to work the only recourse is to go back to the manufacturer and see if they have upgraded their software, or whether they intend to. Thomas has since told me that the Jamcam web address, http://www.jamonline.com/ , no longer operates so maybe they are no longer in business. This makes a solution a little difficult, unless someone else has worked it out. This advice is equally applicable to all hardware conflicts with new operating systems. The original designers are the only ones who know what may be causing the problems and are responsible for updating their software if they wish to continue having sales. I do sympathise with them though. This is one of the problems with the Microsoft constant upgrade cycle. If anyone reading this has any further information on XP software for the Jamcam, please let me know by using the e-mail address above.
